Polartec, the premium provider of innovative and sustainable textile solutions has earlier announced about its’ continued collaborative developments with Kitsbow, the leading provider of riding apparel. Now, Polartec is introducing the brand’s new Alpha Vest and updated Alpha Jacket made with the help of Polartec Alpha, a cutting edge technology that introduced the concept of active insulation.
The brand has found that the insulation effectively regulates core body temperature during the range of conditions as well as activity levels.
Originally the insulation technology was developed for US special forces, Polartec Alpha eliminates the need for shedding or adding layers during both dynamic and static activities.
Zander Nosler, Founder & CEO, Kitsbow stated, “Collaborating with Polartec on these styles was a no-brainer. The Alpha technology is good at balancing the airflow, insulation as well as moisture transport. This is exactly what the rider wants as they need to stay comfortable and warm, whether they are on a grueling bikepacking trip or commuting to work and hitting up happy hour after that.”
Kitsbow’s new performance-oriented Alpha Vest as well as Alpha Snap Jacket is engineered with hydrophobic 80g Polartec Aplha insulation on the front of the torso and a lighter 60 g insulation on the back (and on the sleeves of the jacket). This combination of insulation, lining and DWR shell are designed to work in unison in order to manage breathability and maintain the body temperature, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable in all conditions.
Moreover, the new Alpha Jacket has also been refined and improved with new colours and is a fresh continuation of its previous distinctive style. Also the new Alpha Vest is faster and lighter, serving as an insulation layer and can be worn on its own or under a wind shell with as little bulk as possible.
Gary Smith, CEO, Polartec said, “We love the attention to both technical detail and style that Kitsbow provides to riders. As a cyclist myself, I’m delighted to see their continued embrace of our Polartec Alpha insulation technology which enables the greatest comfort and design flexibility in insulated garments.”
