Kagzi Exports of Jaipur, offering womenswear and kidswear, is now focusing more on quality and finishing. “We have tried to make quality checking more systematic and fix new checkpoints. Earlier each garment was passing through 3 persons, but now each and every garment will pass through 5 quality persons so we can be sure about zero defects by the time the garment is finished. While we were keen to improve our quality, motivation also came from our buyers,” says Mohammed Arif, Director of the company.
To fulfil the commitment of higher standards of quality, the company has hired 7 new people including QA, QC and end line checkers, and in last two months it has achieved good results. Arif accepts that the additional focus on quality has increased cost a little but it gives confidence that there is no chance for human error. Almost one-and-a-half decade old, Kagzi Exports has capacity of 1.5 million pieces per annum and uses mostly mini group (Make Through) system for manufacturing. The company has major market share in the US, South America and Europe along with Middle East. Offering basic garments, it has average FOB starting from US $ 4 which goes up to US $ 7 and is now planning to add in-house digital printing in near future.
