Jaipur’s most of the apparel and home furnishing exporters are now dealing in domestic market also. A few companies that did not have domestic market as their focus, are now venturing in the same. Khartitex, known for its block prints-based garments and home furnishing products is the new name to join this list.
Hira Khatri, Director of the company told Apparel Resources, “Indian market has the similar export opportunities as that of the entire globe. Secondly, we have a lot of follow-ups in exports, be it quality or compliance, while domestic market does not have so many follow-ups.”
The company is working on all business modules like working with online and top retailers. Recently, the company also started its brand ‘Block Print 0 KM’ and opened its first store in Jaipur. It is planning to further expand its brand and stores across India as well as globally.
“Business is like that. You cannot ignore any module otherwise it would get a little difficult to survive,” mentioned Hira. Currently, home linen and fabrics are being offered in the domestic market but soon garments will also be launched.
Hira further added that there are many more possibilities in own brands as the brand already has solid products and good quality. “Focus on export has not reduced for us as there are no major ups and downs in export. But for additional growth, domestic market is now asking for the good products with perfect quality. In the long run, export and domestic markets will contribute the same in our total business,” he concluded.
