The Heimtextil 2019 ended on a good note for Pakistan textile companies that received excellent response at the event that concluded today. The four-day event, which began on 8 January, is a renowned international fair for textile products.
Several foreign buyers, particularly from Europe, showed keen interest in buying home textiles, towels and bedwear manufactured in Pakistan.
“From the first day itself, the companies started getting encouraging response from many international buyers, who showed interest in buying textile products made in Pakistan.” – Muhammad Bashir, Chairman, Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited
The Chairman added that rupee depreciation along with reduction in gas prices has put the textile exporters of Pakistan in an advantageous position. The only issue, he said, that needs to be resolved is that of poor supply of gas.
Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA) has been constantly urging the Government to look into the issue of shortage of gas supply.
More than 200 textile companies from Pakistan had participated in the event. The companies are optimistic of 2019 being a bright and positive year for the nation’s textile exports and economy following the concessions and other policies announced by the new Government.
“Large-scale exhibitions like Heimtextil help exporters gain key information about market trends,” said Muhammad Bashir.
