
Jiten Mahendra has been named chief marketing and communications officer of Shoppers Stop, a multi-brand apparel and leisure retail business. On 30th September, Shwetal Basu, the company’s current marketing officer, will step down, and Mahendra will take over.
New regulatory filings by the company on the Bombay Stock Exchange state that Jiten Mahendra will lead Shoppers Stop’s marketing strategy. After working with Shoppers Stop since November 2021, Basu made the decision to quit the position in order to seek other professional options, according to reports.
Mahendra’s profile lists more than 20 years of expertise in a variety of industries, including fashion, fast-moving consumer goods, and retail. The CEO, who is located in Bengaluru, has experience working for companies like Ample and Landmark Group.
The company said on Facebook that Shoppers Stop has also started a number of collections and specials for the impending Raksha Bandhan occasion. The festival is happening on 19th August this year, and Shoppers Stop is pushing items like watches, jewellery, and perfumes as festival gift options while also offering discounts on them.
