The Florence-based high fashion shoe-making and clothing giant, Salvatore Ferragamo, received another blow to the already turbulent management as Antonio Burrello, who had joined the organisation as the group’s Marketing and Communications Director in January 2017, resigned from the company.
Antonio Burrello had been hired by the previous Chief Executive Officer of Salvatore Ferragamo, Eraldo Poletto, who also exited the company in March to join Stuart Weitzman, which he now manages entirely; thus, aiding to the continuously changing top management of the company.
The news was confirmed as the company’s spokesperson said, “Antonio Burrello will leave the company on June 29, 2018, for personal reasons.”
In the past, Antonio Burrello was with Ermenegildo Zegna group for more than 20 years and since 2009, was serving as Italian menswear company’s Chief Marketing Officer. He was in-charge of developing CRM activities, overseeing communication strategies, omnichannel and licensing for them, which was what all he left when he joined Ferragamo.
Headquartered in Florence, Salvatore Ferragamo S.p.A. is an Italian luxury goods company that specialises in shoes, leather goods, Swiss-made timepieces, and RTW menswear and womenswear while licensing eyewear and watches too. It is going through many managerial changes as in April, Ferruccio Ferragamo was nominated Executive Chairman with James Ferragamo as the Vice Chairman in the organisation. Gucci’s veteran Micaela Le Divelec was also appointed as its new Chief Corporate Officer. A Control and Risks Committee, and a Remuneration and Appointment Committee were also made. Thus, it is being speculated that the recent resignations are the fruit of these new appointments.
