Reliance Brands, a division of Reliance Retail, is set to expand its luxury retail chain, ‘The White Crow,’ as luxury shopping gains momentum in India. The five-year-old chain, which currently operates in 12 cities with store sizes between 8,000 and 10,000 sq.ft., plans to extend to cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. This expansion aligns with the anticipated entry of Shoppers Stop into luxury retail through standalone stores by the end of this financial year or early next year.
The White Crow features luxury brands such as Armani, Burberry, and Michael Kors, offering curated collections and mixed merchandising. This move comes amid growing demand for luxury retail spaces in India, which is projected to see its luxury market expand from US $ 25 billion to US $ 90 billion by 2030, according to Bain and Company. The rise in ultra-high-net-worth individuals is driving this growth, encouraging retailers to enhance their luxury offerings.
Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail’s ‘The Collective’ also plans to increase its luxury outlets, highlighting the growing need for luxury retail spaces. Reliance Brands continues to lead in introducing global brands to India, with a portfolio of over 50 international labels. The company’s commitment to expanding its retail capabilities through strategic partnerships and acquisitions reflects its vision for inclusive development and market growth.
