
The German-based sportswear brand Puma recorded an annual turnover of Rs. 1,413 crore in 2019. Thus, Puma marches ahead of Adidas and Nike who recorded revenue of Rs. 1,250 crore and Rs. 831 crore, respectively.
Company’s collaboration with One8 – brand run by Virat Kohli – accounts for 10 per cent rise in Puma India sales for the fiscal 2019. The brand made an overall 23 per cent growth in total turnover.
This association was the first of its kind for the sportswear brand.
Global brand ambassador Virat Kohli expresses himself through a statement that said “It’s been great partnering with Puma to launch One8. I have had the opportunity to create my own personalised collection in collaboration with Puma and become the first sportsperson to partner with Puma for a product line such as this.”
Expressing on the same, Abhishek Ganguly, Managing Director, Puma India said “Our collaboration with Kohli’s One8 saw an exponential rise in sales in FY19, accounting for almost 10 per cent of our total sales.”
Ganguly further adds “2019 has been fantastic for us globally and in India. Our partnership with Kohli has been one of the most successful for us globally. Puma One8 continues to grow steadily.”
With a gap of 2.4 per cent in FY2018 with Adidas, Puma performed better in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets.
