Alvanon Europe, the University of Manchester (UoM), and the Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry (ASBCI) have announced the third edition of 3D NEXT LVL: Elevating Digital Fashion Through Shared Experience, which will take place on 15th October 2025 at the University of Manchester. This partnership comes after the 3D NEXT LVL collaborative events in Germany and the Netherlands in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Fashion businesses and retailers at whatever point of their digital journeys will receive an overview of the typical problems and difficulties encountered when implementing DPC, 3D, AI, and other upcoming technologies at the 2025 edition of 3D NEXT LVL. The interactive nature of the talks, debates, and networking events emphasises best practices and problem-solving via collective experience.
A visit to the University of Manchester’s innovative materials department, where attendees will see the newest advancements in digital fashion and textiles, will kick off 3D NEXT LVL UK. Following this, there will be a conference and networking event where digital super-users will exchange priceless knowledge and firsthand accounts of how new and existing digital technologies are revolutionising the fashion industry’s operations throughout the whole value chain, from sourcing and design concepts to customer interaction and e-commerce.
According to Tonne Wiedenhoff, Executive Director, Europe at Alvanon, “For digital technologies to live up to the expected return on investment (ROI), they must impact the entire supply chain at scale. Brands must invest in digital technologies that increase efficiencies across all of their end-to-end processes, from sourcing to sales, in order to save time and money. Brands are already transforming their processes with the use of AI, DPC, and 3D-based solutions like digital fabric libraries, digital sizing, and sampling technologies.”
He concluded by saying, “The main issue is that in order to increase sales and margins and enable the wider business to remain flexible and creative enough to keep up with the fashion industry’s rapid speed of change, we must achieve critical digital mass throughout the whole value chain. 3D NEXT LVL UK will investigate what obstacles need to be removed in order to swiftly attain this critical mass.”
This non-commercial event will take place on 16th October, in conjunction with the ASBCI Autumn Conference, providing delegates with two days of transformative learning.
Over the past two years, 3D NEXT LVL has attracted attention and respect from the industry for its unorthodox “no recordings allowed” policy, which permits presenters and guests to freely discuss their tactics, technology, and experiences.
With assistance from the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and Dialogue Textil Bekleidung (DTB), previous 3D NEXT LVL speakers and partners in Germany and the Netherlands have included representatives from leading retailers and brands, including Adidas, BERSHKA/Inditex Group, Etam Lingerie, Eurojersey, Hugo Boss, OTTO Group, Speedo/Pentland Brands, PVH Corp., Scott Sports SA, and the hosting universities, the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI) and Albstadt-Sigmaringen University.
