HealthFab, the new brand of menstrual intimatewear, or ‘period panty’ is expanding rapidly, capitalising on the fast-growing feminine hygiene market. The brand anticipates that the period panty market in India will reach US $ 13 million by 2025 with a CAGR of 21 per cent, providing it with ample growth opportunities.
The brand announced on Facebook that it has recently launched on a number of e-commerce platforms, including Flipkart and Amazon, with a range of period panties and bras. The new brand offers period-appropriate underwear that can be washed and reused, eliminating the need for disposable pads.
There are various growth boosters for this market,” said HealthFab’z Co-founder, Kiriti Acharjee in conversation with a reporter, adding, “The fabric used to make period panties is rather highly absorbent. Due to this fabric’s capacity for high levels of comfort, a notable increase in its demand is being seen in many regions of the world. This reason is driving up period panties’ sales and thereby the global market. Also, antimicrobial qualities can be found in period panties. Similarly, this product’s design helps in preventing stains. In addition to this, the product’s stain resistance contributes to its higher acceptance. Additionally, a rise in the global population’s propensity for keeping their personal hygiene and wellness is driving up demand for period panties.”
HealthFab products start from basic Rs. 500 and it aims to provide affordable solutions for a healthy and sustainable human life. The company’s flagship product is GoPadFree™.
Despite the fact that the majority of the brand’s customers reside in metro cities, government campaigns and a greater emphasis on reducing waste are driving an increase in demand for period hygiene products in rural areas as well.
HealthFab is a Bengaluru-based fem-tech direct-to-consumer start-up, which has raised Rs. 2.17 crore in a seed funding round led by Singapore-based BeyondSeed and other angel investors, namely Goh Ee Fann and Abhijit Datta. HealthFab was founded in 2019 by Saurav Chakrabarty, Kiriti Acharjee and Satyajit Chakaraborty.
