
Melissa Riggs, director of marketing, North America, has been promoted to the position of chief marketing officer (CMO) at The LYCRA Company, a global pioneer in creating sustainable and cutting-edge fibre and technology solutions for the clothing and personal care industries.
In her new position, Riggs brings over 20 years of brand-building experience, including with the GORE-TEX brand, from the garment and footwear industries as well as consumer packaged goods. Riggs worked for Molson Coors Beverage Company for 11 years, specialising in distributor go-to-market planning and partnership marketing, until joining The LYCRA Company in 2022.
Melissa’s promotion, according to Gary Smith, CEO of The LYCRA Company, shows how much the company values expanding on its distinctive marketing skills and the value it offers consumers.
As The LYCRA Company’s CMO, Riggs is in charge of organising, creating, and carrying out brand and marketing campaigns that complement the organization’s growth plans and corporate goals.
Over the last three years, Riggs said, she has had the honour of working with a highly talented group of people. She is excited to discover new ways to boost partners, revitalise ingredient brands, and make the company’s influence known across the value chain as she assumes the role of CMO.
