Kontoor Brands has made announcements regarding leadership updates, increasing Jenni Broyles and Joseph Alkire’s responsibilities on the executive team of the company effective immediately.
Broyles assumes the role of Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, and Global Head of Brands. She will have global commercial responsibility for Lee and Wrangler brands, including both domestic and international territories.
Alkire has been appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Global Head of Operations. His duties will now include the oversight of Kontoor’s entire supply chain system.
The two executives will report directly to Scott Baxter, who is President, CEO, and Chairman of the Greensboro, North Carolina-based denim firm. The Helly Hansen brand will remain under direct supervision by Baxter, as indicated in the company press release.
Baxter said that Jenni and Joe’s expanded leadership roles reflect their consistent performance and strategic vision, and their promotions highlight the strong leadership bench they’re building at Kontoor. He added that together, this team is well-equipped to drive the next phase of their growth strategy, broaden their brand portfolio, and deliver lasting value to shareholders.
The leadership realignment comes as Tom Waldron, Kontoor’s existing Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, is scheduled to leave. Waldron will stay through a transition period, departing the company on 30th September.
Baxter stated that he would like to thank Tom for his leadership during the last six years and his extended contributions to their company going back to their predecessor company. He further said that Tom has been instrumental in defining Kontoor, and they wish him well in all his future endeavours.
In its recently released May financial report, Kontoor reported a 1% year-over-year decrease in first-quarter revenue at US $ 623 million, primarily due to weakness in the global wholesale business.
