US-based home décor startup D’Moksha said in a press release on Thursday that Shailendra Singh, formerly the Business head of physical retail at Nykaa, has joined the company as a co-founder and chief operating officer (COO).
Singh, who graduated from IIM Lucknow, has more than 20 years of expertise in retail, e-commerce, and consumer products. Prior to joining Nykaa to increase the company’s offline and omnichannel retail presence, he held executive positions at Hindustan Unilever, where he oversaw sales, brand strategy, and digital transformation in vital categories.
“He is a strong addition to the founding team because of his leadership in both digital and physical retail as well as his profound operational knowledge. We’re ready to build on our success in the US and have a significant influence in India together”, said CEO and co-founder Manav Dhanda.
In India, the business is now testing a home consultation-led curtain solution that incorporates digital visualisation and real-size fabric trials. Within the next few months, a nationwide rollout is anticipated.
