Premium footwear brand Harrys London has revealed an innovation in shoe comfort with the launch of a new technical footbed unit named HLTSystem, intended to reform the comfort of its shoes infinitely.
Over the last 18 months, Creative Director Graeme Fidler partnered with sports experts from the Marylebone Health Group (MHG) situated in Harley Street to create this innovative footbed. This partnership led to the unveiling of a new loafer designed by Fidler.
Pushed by a pledge to innovation, Fidler involved MHG in a wide-ranging study of the stresses and pressures affecting the foot while walking. The insights acquired were then utilised by expert sports design studio IIID to produce the innovative footbed now presented by Harrys.
Termed after the street that stirred its creation, the new loafer, the Harley, takes inspiration from Harrys’ successful Downing loafer since its beginning. Apart from the footbed, a new Vibram sole unit has been fashioned precisely for the Harley, designed to match the footbed technology for supreme comfort and support.
This rounded approach aims to improve overall well-being, concentrating on structural foot support. MHG’s examination of the sinusoidal motion of walking offered the basis for an advanced “feet-first” approach to all-inclusive well-being, highlighting posture, balance, rhythm, and speed.
The HLTSystem footbed, created by IIID utilising Harrys’ signature Technogel insole, merges foam gel and Technogel with a crucial layer of air, guaranteeing ergonomic design and lightweight feel. The new Vibram sole, fashioned in-house, consists of a sturdy rubber compound filled with Vibram foam and includes a geometric lug sole for better grip.
