China, alongside Chinese consumers traveling universally, remains a key target for many European and American luxury brands. Additionally, the increasing prominence of Chinese cinema stars on the global stage continues to impact a wider consumer base beyond China’s borders.
Keeping this in mind, luxury footwear and accessories brand Roger Vivier has chosen Chinese actress Xin Zhilei as its latest ambassador.
Roger Vivier emphasised that Xin Zhilei’s selection “will improve and expand the Maison’s lasting ties with the international film industry.” This selection reflects the brand’s long-lasting tradition of teaming up with movie icons, like Marlene Dietrich, Isabella Rossellini, Isabelle Huppert, Catherine Deneuve, Laura Dern, Christina Ricci, and Susan Sarandon.
A graduate from the Central Academy of Drama, Xin Zhilei gained fame in 2016 with her revolutionary role in “Crosscurrent,” the only Asian entry in the main competition at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. The award-winning actress has since featured in both blockbuster hits and critically acclaimed films. Lately, she represented Li Li, the main character in “Blossoms Shanghai,” the most well-known drama of 2024.
