Mumbai-based sustainable fashion brand Anavila has produced and donated face masks to the Post Master General of the city on Monday for local postmen and women in the region.
Anavila’s Founder and a popular fashion designer known for her hand-woven linen saris, Anavila Misra has taken this step to support local postmen and women working tirelessly through the lockdown caused by the pandemic.
Anavila, along with her team, delivered the first batch of 200 non-surgical face masks at her local post office in the Khar suburb on 26 June, and is determined to continue to make more masks and donate them to postal workers.
“It’s indeed humbling to be of some service to the frontline warriors of Indian postal service who have shown utmost commitment towards the nation and its people during these difficult times,” the designer wrote on her Instagram page.
Washable and reusable, these face masks are made from linen and include an inner layer of soft mulmul. The elastic straps have cotton coverings.
