
Depop, the community-driven marketplace for vintage clothing, is eliminating its 10 percent selling fee for US customers, in line with a move made in the UK earlier this year.
The decision, according to a statement from Depop, is intended to “empower its growing community to earn more from their wardrobes,” as well as provide consumers with better value and options and inspire a larger audience to consider selling their clothing.Depop, the community-driven marketplace for vintage clothing, is eliminating its 10 percent selling fee for US customers, in line with a move made in the UK earlier this year.
Depop’s fee structure has undergone a broader update that includes the removal of selling fees. Additionally, starting on 18th July, buyers in the US will be required to pay a small marketplace fee to support “continued investment across the Depop experience, including in Depop Protection, customer support, platform improvements and growing the community.”
The average US seller on Depop earned more than US $ 450 in their first year of sales, adding to the more than US $ 3.5 billion that the Depop community has made worldwide thus far.
