More on Topshop’s sales, Nick Beighton, CEO, Asos, said that Asos was pleasantly surprised to see Topshop’s traffic – ever since the relaunch – on Asos’ site jump by as much as 220 per cent.
Nick also said that Asos had predicted back in February that all the brands it had bought, including Topshop, would resonate strongly in the UK, North America and Germany, further corroborating “Yes, we are pleasantly surprised with the performance, but it’s kind of what we expected.”
He further added that the British clothing online retailer has already started designing Topshop products and soon hopes to have the Asos design element to the brand for this year’s Autumn/Winter – much in time for Black Friday.
Asos’ buying Topshop for £295 million was one of the earliest and most talked about acquisitions of 2021.
