
American performance sports apparel brand Under Armour that specialises in footwear, garments as well as equipment, has undergone major restructural changes.
The company has appointed Jason Archer as its managing director, Asia Pacific and Manuel Ovalle for managing the Latin America region. Massimo Baratto has been named as the managing director, Europe, Middle East & Africa. The three managers will report directly to Under Armour president and COO Patrik Frisk.
Jason Archer who has been with Under Armour for six-years is now responsible for the company’s operations in Australia, China, India, Japan and South Korea, among others. He is known for his significant role in transforming the company’s international financial and operating structure under Charlie Maurath, its former chief revenue officer.
Manuel Ovalle, who will now be based in Panama, played vital role in the company’s strong performance in the Southern Cone of Latin America. Now he will take care of the entire Latin America business. Ovalle has been with Under Armour since 2013.
Massimo Baratto, who most recently worked with Oberalp Group as its CEO, will now oversee the entire Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Baratto has more than 30 years of experience.
In addition to appointments, the brand also announced the expansion of its Hong Kong office to serve as its Asia Pacific (APAC) headquarters from now onwards.
The changes in the management have come close on the heels of a good quarter reported by the sportswear giant. In the latest quarter, Under Armour’s revenue reported a 6 per cent increase to US $ 1.2 billion in the latest quarter.
