Having studied the Indian consumers and their online shopping preferences, e-commerce giant Amazon realised that shoppers in the country indulge in online purchasing quite frequently and with larger baskets.
The observation led to the firm’s latest plan to expand its offices in the country, for which, it has leased close to 2.8 million square feet of space in the Indian cities of Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.
While the Mumbai office will be situated at Godrej Two in Vikhroli suburb, the Chennai office has been planned at the Brigade World Trade Centre.
As for the office in Bengaluru, Amazon has finalised a 9,00,000 square feet space in Bagmane Rio.
Reportedly, the properties are expected to be operational in 2021.
It must be mentioned here that the leading online retailer already occupies more than 10 million square feet of office space in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Gurugram.
