Indian consumers are entering the 2025 festive season with steady confidence, according to the JioStar Festive Sentiment Survey. The study found that 92% of shoppers intend to maintain or increase their spending this year, with an average festive budget of ₹16,500.
The survey points to rising millennial spending, higher expenditure among men, and more diverse purchase choices driven by women. Apparel and fashion emerged as the leading category, accounting for 33% of planned purchases, while nearly half of respondents said they plan to shop for others.
Financial stability appears solid, with 85% reporting stable or improved finances compared to last year. Millennials are expected to outspend Gen Z, 61% of consumers prefer cashless payments, 52% plan to shop online, and 42% will opt for offline channels. Online advertising was identified as the top source of product discovery, followed by OTT platforms and social media.
The survey observed that Gen Z and millennial shoppers in India are increasingly informed, experimental, and aspirational — trends that are fuelling demand for curated experiences and value-driven offerings. Luxury and premium segments are also thriving, with global lifestyle brands deepening their engagement with Indian consumers.
