Asos has appointed a new managing director as part of many organisational changes aimed at better matching company structure with its growth objective and customer-first mindset.
The online fashion giant has appointed North America SVP Sean Trend as managing director for the US and UK, while senior VP of operations Jag Weatherley will be managing director for Europe and the rest of the world.
Asos claims that these hires are a component of a broader effort to speed up decision-making processes and assist the business in achieving its expansion objectives in all of its foreign markets.
The reforms have resulted from great strategic progress, including lowering stock levels, boosting product offerings, refinancing its debt, and increasing operating efficiency.
To help create a cohesive creative vision for the brand, Asos’ brand and creative departments were combined into a single team. This is one of the further organisational adjustments. Former EVP Creative Vanessa Spence will now take on a more expansive role as EVP Brand & Creative.
Przemek Czarnecki’s appointment as EVP Technology further enhances the company’s technological capabilities. Czarnecki, who comes from Zalando, will concentrate on developing Asos’ e-commerce and digital engineering capabilities.
