The three-day Surat International Textile Expo 2025 (SITEX), starting on Friday, will feature a non-China machinery focus to promote the “Make in India” initiative. Organised annually by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the Southern Gujarat Trade and Industries Development Centre, SITEX is held in two segments. This year’s second edition will be dedicated solely to Chinese machinery.
SGCCI has organised two exhibitions in recent years to promote technological modernisation in the sector, providing a venue for non-Chinese machinery as well. SITEX will showcase the latest technological advancements in textile machinery.
Vijay Mewavala, President of SGCCI, mentioned that the 32-head printing machine will be showcased in Surat for the first time this year, noting that this advancement in digital printing will greatly enhance the city’s garment industry.
Water jet machines, high-speed rapier machines, and shuttle looms with seven shuttles will all be on display as part of the “Make in India” campaign. Pure silk and semi-silk with gold and silver threads are among the value-added textiles that these machines can create.
