Swedish fashion brand H&M has teamed up with Indian designer Anamika Khanna for a unique Indian-inspired collection that will include womenswear, menswear, jewelry, and accessories.
The womenswear line will feature draped skirts, breezy kaftans with asymmetrical or high-low hemlines, and luxurious silk pajama sets.
The menswear collection will showcase traditional cuts infused with bold graphic prints, while the jewelry range will include earrings, cuffs, and necklaces.
Speaking about the collection, Anamika Khanna stated, “I’ve always felt that Indian fashion often gets misunderstood when interpreted by the rest of the world. Our fashion, with its rich cultural heritage, craft, and textile embroideries, is sometimes seen as costume-like or not modern enough. But things have changed, and this collaboration with H&M allows me to present Indian fashion in a global, contemporary light.”
Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor at H&M, added, “Anamika designs clothes that encourage self-expression. Her silhouettes are fluid and draped, often in a way that can be personalized. The prints are captivating, combining traditional color elements with a more graphic approach.”
