Swatchbook, the design and software firm unveils its latest next generation 3D design, configuration and visualisation app ‘mix’, specially curated for iPad Pro.
The release of the new app expands the company’s capability of allowing for real-time use and insights of digital materials provided by mills and tanneries on Swatchbook platform.
The novelty leverages the use of latest iOS for iPad developments, along with the computing power of iPad Pro.
Also, the company has collaborated with OTOY, makers of the industry’s leading spectrally correct GPU renderer, OctaneRender, for connecting the company’s distributed GPU cloud-rendering platform RNDR directly into mix.
Mix allows the development of new designs based on material and seasonal colours.
The tool allows access to hundreds of designs and colour combinations in full 3D and AR in a matter of seconds streamlining the creative process. “With the ability to output a virtual Bill of Material and renderings for every variant, ‘mix’ is the first tool to connect creative, production, and retail – and all that from a mobile device,” said, John Burch, Senior Vice President of product for merrell, a Wolverine Worldwide brand.
The new solution ‘mix’ can help in generation of hundreds of colours and material combinations in seconds.
It also allows easy visualisation of new designs in 3D and AR and reduces the dependency on physical samples by up to 75 per cent.
