
Magnum Resources which deals in a complete range of machines used in apparel and home furnishing was displaying many interesting machines but the two products which attracted most attention at the GTE were the Sipami range of special machines for jeans and casual trouser production and Melco’s AMAYA XTS computerized embroidery machine.
Sipami: Automated Solutions for Jean Manufacturing
The Sipami range of machines from Brother are specially designed and assembled in Japan and Italy offering maximum flexibility, productivity and consistency in production. Sipami 99SPCH and 99SPLS automatic pocket hemming machine works with all kinds of fabric, thread and thickness. The 99SPCH model offers chainstitch while the 99SPLS offers lockstitch, besides having several patented mechanisms. The patented folder allows maximum versatility for lightweight to heavyweight fabrics of varied thickness. The patented belt feeding device is a step motor that controls and avoids all waves and curves besides rope effect during hemming. The pressure control device for the belt is also patented and hardware controlled from sewing head. Both models are equipped with belt type dispose of stacker, stair-like pocket positioning devices. Pneumatically-driven thread trimmer ensures clean finish without needing any help. The thread breakage sensors stop the machine in case of thread breakage. Optional devices like automatic label insertion and automatic feeder robot for 99SPCH is recommended.

The 326G-SP10FLY programmable J-stitch unit can be used for different operations apart from J-stitch in fly. This can also be used for decorative stitches in back pocket, pocket flap preparation, very long darts and pleats for casual trouser. The sewing head is BAS-326G from Brother Japan with top speed of 2700 SPM. Wide and vertical direction pressure loader clamps ensure perfect fabric feeding without any loss of balance. In automatic mode, a stacker will remove the front panel at the end of sewing cycle ensuring overlapped cycle of operation for maximum productivity. The stacker is specially designed to accommodate internal space under the table stand occupying lesser footprint and also to avoid risk of hitting the operators, helpers or other people in sewing floor. Sewing pattern data can be stored in compact flash card for easy reproduction.
6044-SPCH is automatic chainstitch waistband attaching unit equipped with double electronic puller, touch screen programming for automatic cutting at the beginning and end of sewing. 6044-SPFLEX is flexible waistband attaching unit with all chainstitch or mixed lockstitch plus chainstitch sewing. The SPFLEX unit is a Kansai-Japan sewing head that has a vertical rotary hook next to set of loopers. The unique setting enables changeover from all chainstitch to mixed stitching in few minutes in comparison to hours required by competitors. Both models are equipped with electronic step motor controlled puller device. The speed of individual roller can be adjusted with 100% difference enabling making all kinds of waistband, from simple single waistband to double curved waistband with stretch fabric.
Apart from the above, Sipami also displayed 8752B-SPFLEX, split twin needle programmable lockstitch machine with large rotary hook, direct drive, semi-dry lubrication and under-bed trimmer for variety of uses. 342G-SP1 automatic programmable pocket setter has a large working area of 300 mm by 254 mm and can be used for several applications like decorative fantasy stitches in back pocket, pocket flap preparation, very long darts and pleats for casual trouser. 001SPMAXI is an automatic back pocket pressing station with patented pocket folding technology. This can crease two different shape of pocket from different fabric simultaneously.
Melco showcases versatile Embroidery Machine
Melco represents the latest in embroidery technology; delivering the highest quality stitching, ease of use, industrial durability and the ability to stitch on the widest variety of products in the industry. It has 16 needles that provide maximum stitches of 1500 and 1200 per minute on flats and caps, respectively. Servo motor of 100 watts (X and Z), 250 watts (Y) capacity runs on 90 – 260V (Single Phase, 50/ 60 HZ) power supply and has 200 Watts (Typical) and 650 Watts (Max) power consumption. Stitch length range is only limited by hoop size. Body material is of aluminum and weighs 210.3 lbs (95.4 kg) with cart.
With its modular design, laser eye technology, automatic thread tension, smallest cylindrical arm as well as largest cap sew field this machine can embroider all readymade garments.
AMAYA XTS is controlled by AMAYA OS software. This software is filled with new features that make the machine more productive. With its exclusive Flexfeature, AMAYA XTS heads can be operated in synchronous mode (all heads start and stop in unison) or in a synchronous mode (each head operates independently).
