Technology has come a long way to support evolving needs of the garment industry and one such example was seen at the Kansai Special stall, which had on display the new REX-9803MG/UTC high speed machine for top and bottom cover stitch operations. With the ability to multi-task, the machine is a flexible solution for companies looking at specialized machines, but do not want to invest in multiple machines. “We have received a good response to the machine and 5-6 enquiries have also come in from Indian exporters,” said Yoshihide Morimoto, GM, Sales, Kansai Special.
One of the most distinct aspects of the new machine is the positioning of the looper thread take-up cam on the exterior of the machine, which makes the handling easier. The machine being multi-gauge culminates the operations of plain sewing, covering overlock seams (centered and left fold), binding and hemming in a single package. Also the extra parts required for doing these operations have been provided with the machine. With 5 thread intake, the 3-needle machine provides a stitch density of 6-16 stitches per inch. All machines are available with automatic thread trimmer, either pneumatic or electric. A new airblow type wiper is available for pneumatic thread trimmer machines.
“With 20 technical staff stationed in India, the country is an important market for Kansai. The year 2011 has begun with a positive growth phase for the industry,” concludes Morimoto.
