
The ATDC-JUKI Tech Innovation Centre at the ATDC Training of Trainers’ (TOT) academy Gurgaon, is equipped with the latest machines from Juki. The concept is to use the facility to update and train the industry on latest machines. The machines at the centre will be regularly updated and a set of technicians will be available for training.
The recently launched Technology Innovation Centre, a joint initiative of ATDC and Juki, is a perfect example where industry stakeholders are working together for training and innovations. The first of its kind in India, the ATDC-JUKI Tech innovation Centre at the ATDC Training of Trainers’ (TOT) academy Gurgaon, is equipped with the latest machines from Juki. A win-win situation for both the partners, the facility will be extended to other ATDC-TOT centres subsequently.
The centre was inaugurated by Textile Secretary Kiran Dhingra, in the presence of V. Srinivas, Joint Secretary Exports (Ministry of Textiles), AEPC Chairman A. Sakthivel, and Vice Chairman ATDC, Hari Kapoor. Juki was represented by Executive Operation Officer Katsumi Nihei, MD, Yamanaka, Director Motomaru and India representative Gopal Kukreti. The ceremony included the signing of an MOU between ATDC and Juki regarding the centre.
Happy with the initiative, Kiran Dhingra said that it is really good that various stakeholders are coming together for training and spreading technical knowledge. Sakthivel informed that ATDC is continuously working towards upgrading training standards and has become a nodal agency for training with initiatives like Training of Trainer’s Academies, training for using ERP and now the technology innovation research centre.
Very upbeat of the initiative, Hari Kapoor invited the industry so see the latest developments in sewing technology. “The facility is free of cost and we aim to promote the centre as a platform where industry and academia can work together towards research as ATDC SMART (Skills for manufacturing of Apparel through Research and Training) is already focusing on research,” said Kapoor. ATDC is planning to initiate many more innovative ways to impart training that will help apparel industry, especially SME sector, for better and easy understanding of stitching machines technology. Dr. Darlie Koshy, DG & CEO of ATDC & IAM, informed that ATDC will continue to arrange series of seminars on various technical topics to empower its staff and industry.
