Navis TubeTex, a US-based leading finishing technology provider for the textile sector, is all set to conclude 2020 on a positive note as it has received new machine orders that are yet to ship in Q4 ’20.
2020 has been a year of disruptions in the businesses due to COVID-19 and quantities or orders in apparel industry have shrunk significantly, impacting the fabric manufacturing and processing sector as well.
Navis TubeTex has coped with the situation quite diligently to cater to the reduced quantities in textile sector. As India and Bangladesh – two strong markets for Navis TubeTex – talk about 50-60 per cent and 70-80 per cent capacity utilisation, respectively, the finishing technology giant is supporting textile industry located in these countries as they reopen and need service support for their existing machines, spare parts for existing machines, as well as new technologies.
As a result, Navis TubeTex, which had already exceeded its planned target of US $ 2 million turnover and over 10 new installations in Bangladesh in 2019, is optimistic about 2020 being even better, owing to an increased number of vertically integrated set ups in the country which were already planned before COVID-19 and have seen a boost now due to factories’ approach towards reducing human cost in complex processes.
Speaking to Apparel Resources, William J. Motchar, President & CEO, Navis TubeTex, shared, “The apparel industry has made a strong comeback now from the early period of the pandemic. Most factories that were temporarily shut down have reopened. We are now starting to see many exporters – both Asian and those located in the western part of the world – willing to invest in new machinery/technology.”
Will further informed that one such technology support is its Consultex line, launched back at the end of 2018, for applying pre-treatment chemicals for the digital print industry which is gaining ground due to the increasing talks of value-added garments post-COVID. The line has been embraced by the exporters that are into digital printing as well, said Will.
“It is a rotary spray system to apply chemicals and/or water to lines with no contact and precise amount of applications. When we develop new technologies, we do this keeping India and Bangladesh markets in mind and approach customers there first,” asserted Will.
Since positivity has strongly captured the market sentiments now, Navis TubeTex expects to close a number of projects in-hand within next 60 days.
