Amidst the worldwide trade turmoil, especially after the Brexit and the US-China trade war, a significant trade agreement took place between the European Union and Vietnam, popularly called the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA). It is believed that this FTA will eliminate 99 per cent of tariffs, although some will be cut over a 10-year period and will also help to generate jobs (overall) for about 1,46,000 people per year. Looking at the international scenario, the impact will be huge on the already struggling Indian exporters, not forgetting the fact that EU is India’s big core market.
