The high fashion Italian label, Gucci will be hosting the runway show for the spring 2019 collection, as a debut for the Théâtre Le Palace in Paris. The show will be held in the evening of September 24th.
The location ‘Le Palace’ is located at the 8 Rue du Faubourg-Montmartre. The destination, which served as a nightclub for several years, has always drawn fashion and music industry members as well as an underground culture.
Gucci has chosen the location, The Théâtre Le Palace, as it is parallel to the vision of the fashion house, which too has given inspiration to plenty of budding designer minds. Additionally, both Gucci and The Théâtre Le Palace are responsible for inaugurating various sub cultures.
The show marks the upsurge of a three-part tribute to France, initiated by the creative director, Alessandro Michele, of the Italian brand. It is a unique show for Gucci in Paris.
The journey of Gucci’s ode to France can be traced back to 1968 with their pre-fall advertising campaign. It was during the times when there were student marches and riots, which flickered massive rebellions in contradictions to the military and bureaucratic elite hypocrite rule. Glen Luchford photographed and directed the campaign, which depicted models portraying rebels that challenge the establishment and drive a campaign demanding change.
For this particular campaign, Gucci also initiated the hashtag #GucciDansLesRues [Gucci in the streets]. Additionally, the campaign was launched on the Gucci Art Walls in Milan, New York, London, and Hong Kong.
Recently on May 30, Gucci hosted its cruise display in Arles, endorsing the ancient site and Roman necropolis of the Promenade Des Alyscamps.
