In a collaboration that seems to combine the best of both worlds, Skechers has teamed up with the tyre company Goodyear to introduce Goodyear Performance Outsoles that offer less slipping on wet surfaces, excellent durability while sticking to the casual sneaker aesthetic of Skechers.
The Goodyear Performance Outsoles are made of a polymer that is already being used in Goodyear tyres and is made of soybean oil that is renewable and sustainable in its environmental footprint.
Along with that, the soles offer superior stability, better grip on slippery surface and added durability for daily use.
Skechers has already launched 3 styles from the Skechers GOrun line that incorporates these soles.
Skechers was started in 1992 by Robert Greenberg to cater to the casual footwear market of America. Since then, the Californian-headquartered company has diversified its product range from adventure boots, sneakers, professional shoes and many more.
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, popularly known for their tyres for various transit vehicles including cars and trucks, has established its name globally for their tyres.
