The Fashion Entrepreneur Fund, a venture studio focused on fashion, has welcomed Bollywood icon and fashion enthusiast Karan Johar as an investor and promoter. Johar plans to leverage his industry experience to support emerging Indian fashion entrepreneurs.
“Fashion is a vital part of our culture and identity,” Karan Johar said in a press release. “As an ever-evolving industry, I’m thrilled to join FEF on this exciting journey. The rise of homegrown ventures highlights India’s incredible talent and a shift towards embracing our unique style.”
Recently, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, business magnate Ravi Jaipuria, and business leader Gaurav Dalmia have also joined FEF. Johar views FEF as a crucial platform for addressing the gaps in the support system for fashion entrepreneurs in India.
“Having Karan Johar join FEF is a tremendous boost for us,” said Sanjay Nigam, founder, and Vagish Pathak, chairman of the Fashion Entrepreneur Fund, in a joint statement. “Our mission is to create a vibrant ecosystem where fashion dreams can flourish into successful enterprises. His passion for innovation aligns perfectly with our goals, and his experience and extensive networks will be invaluable in reaching out to fashion brands and entrepreneurs. With his support, we are confident that FEF will become the go-to platform for fashion entrepreneurs in India, providing them with the investment, resources, and mentorship they need to succeed.”
