Aldo Maria Camillo will be introducing the debuting collection of his namesake label in January 2019, at Pitti Uomo, running in Florence. The international menswear trade show selected Camillo at the Pitti Italics Special Event.
“Aldo Maria Camillo works exclusively and with great focus on men’s fashion studying the masculine silhouette, with the aim of giving a new imprint and freshness to men’s wear. His cultural references belong to an intimately classical background, supported by solid stylistic training and an acute sensitivity to current worldwide events — which goes beyond fashion. He has talent, imagination, and a sense of material,” said Lapo Cianchi, Pitti Immagine’s Director of Communications and Events.
“The new project of Aldo Maria is very personal and immediately engaged us, because we believe that in menswear it is essential to return to the standards of elegance nonetheless, re-read and renewed in a modern key. We want to join him in this adventure — the launching of his self-named brand — which now more than ever before requires courage and determination,” Lapo Cianchi added.
Camillo takes pride in his journey from being a designer for prestigious houses, including Valentino, Ermenegildo Zegna, Cerruti and Berluti to getting the opportunity to showcase his debuting collection at Pitti Uomo, “where the culture of tailoring and research on fashion have always come together as one,” he said.
He also shed light over his new label, “represents the beginning of a new story, a showcase where I can both express my idea of fashion and speak of myself. I believe fashion is a tool for communicating who we are without saying a word, because it lives and grows together with us. With my brand, I would like to create a collection that evolves and completes itself over time, in which garments possess the quality needed to last as long as possible.”
Pitti Uomo has offered a platform to many aspiring brands as before, a set of labels like Alanui, Lucio Vanotti and Federico Curradi, presented their collection at the tradeshow under the label of Pitti Italics Special Events.
