Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) and Shahi Exports have launched “Inache Connect”, a new initiative aimed at strengthening worker welfare, labour engagement, ethical business practices, and ESG compliance within the textile and apparel industry.
The platform was introduced during an industry event, with industry leaders highlighting the growing importance of sustainability, traceability, and worker-centric practices in global apparel sourcing.
Joint Secretary, TEA, M. Anand stated that significant changes were taking place across the global textile and apparel industry, with buyers increasingly prioritising not only price, quality, and delivery timelines, but also worker welfare, safe working conditions, and ethical business standards.
He noted that Tirupur had continued to lead initiatives focused on zero liquid discharge, energy conservation, sustainability, circular economy practices, and employee engagement. He added that “Inache Connect” would help organisations become more socially responsible and future-ready.
General Secretary, TEA, N. Thirukkumaran said Tirupur had long been recognised as a pioneer in adopting new systems and technologies. He described “Inache Connect” as an important bridge between management and the workforce, particularly for MSME units seeking cost-effective solutions to improve worker welfare and workplace standards.
According to him, several companies had already adopted the platform to strengthen ethical standards, labour welfare initiatives, and workplace environments.
President, TEA, K.M. Subramanian stated that the growing importance of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and traceability requirements in European markets by 2030 would make platforms such as “Inache Connect” increasingly important for strengthening compliance and enhancing customer confidence.
Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman AEPC and Honorary Chairman TEA, stated that worker engagement and labour welfare practices were already deeply embedded within the Tirupur textile industry. He added that many company owners maintained close relationships with workers and actively participated in important family and social occasions.
He further remarked that “Inache Connect” would act as a connecting bridge between workers and management.
Anand Ahuja, Head of ESG, Shahi Exports, stated that investments in worker welfare significantly contributed to productivity and long-term business growth. He added that the platform would help companies better understand worker needs while aligning operations with global ESG expectations.
