Red carpet has been laid for the 25th edition the Hong Kong Fashion Show, 2018 for Spring/Summer season. Structured by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the event will take place from 9th to 12th July, hosting 1,100 exhibitors from 14 nations.
Themed as ‘Happy Collage’, the event has about 15 fashion shows being held under its name. Also, it encompasses various other shows related to fashion and buyer forums, trend forecasting seminars and stalls presenting fashion products and cutting edge market intelligence.
The nine pavilions at the show include India’s Apparel Export Promotion Council and The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council. The event will also witness the debut of exhibitors from Singapore, Sri Lanka and the United States.
The fair is segregated zone wise. The sought after ‘World of Fashion Accessories’ section features bags, accessories, footwear, etc. and the ‘Fashion Gallery’ showcases about 85 high fashion brands. The ‘Clothing Accessories, Fabrics & Yarn’ zone displays quality raw materials.
Also, this edition of the show has once again set up an hktdc.com at the Small Orders Zone. It allows buyers to place order with minimum order quantity of at least 1,000 pieces from the range of products displayed.
The copious options for hospitality, retail, and safekeeping industries uniforms available at the brand new ‘Corporate Fashion and Uniforms’ zone is the apt initiative, helping the consumer weighing its option before making a decision. The ‘Fashion Tech’ is a thematic zone which includes luminous fabrics made from innovative trademarked technology, an application from Hong Kong exhibitor. Another attraction is a 3D human modelling application by TOZI Technology that provides accurate body measurement with just two pictures uploaded by the user.
The international trend forecasting group Fashion Snoops will discuss their Autumn/Winter 2019/20 fashion forecasts for Women’s & Men’s Wear and accessories at the event. An expert panel discussion on ‘Online Shopping Reshapes the Fashion Industry’ and other burning topics will be discussed through a series of forums and seminars.
Expanding opportunities for participants, the HKTDC has gathered 90 buying missions from 45 countries and regions at the show, including buyers from over 3,600 companies majorly from Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Russia, Singapore etc.
A few praiseworthy mentions are the Japanese brand FITJOY’s lightweight footwear produced from quality goat leather. Couture womenswear by MsEnvy exhibits delicate patterns digitally printed on silk. Another Hong Kong brand HOTITLE’s Speed Racer collection has cufflinks inspired by sports cars’ wheels that can be dismantled to facilitate personalization.
With China being the wonder casket every market player is eyeing, this event is a key milestone in planning strategies towards capturing the global market
