
The premier US show for the outdoor industry that descends semi-annually, Outdoor Retailer,has successfully organized its winter version, the Emerald Expositions show in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sponsored by the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), Outdoor Retailer attracted nearly 20,000 visitors and 1,075 exhibitors.
The show will move to three dates, in January, June, and November next year, in order to coordinate with the Grassroots Outdoor Alliance (GOA), an organization of speciality retailers who are considered the heart of the outdoor industry.

In a bid to reconnect with the outdoor consumers, retail and brand executives are looking for ways as the outdoor industry has faced headwinds this year, including unpredictable weather, changing consumer habits, and retail consolidation. A number of brands have shown their latest technology of apparels such as Polartec®, Delta Marsh, Invista CORDURA® Brand, DValpine eVent® Fabrics, Fjällräven, Pertex®, Ski brand, Flylow, Schoeller, Bemis Associates, Avalanche and Patagonia during the three-day show.
According to the trade show officials, Outdoor Retailer 2017 edition has proven to be the leading growth vehicle for the winter sports market and brands that are interested in progressing and advancing into multiple channels of the outdoor marketplace. And, success of recent show is pushing the fair to come up with more brands in the seasons to come.
