
Entrepreneurs from the Jharkhand, India will promote silk, lac, traditional and other handicraft products depicting cultural heritage of the state during the Global Fair 2018, to be held in Dubai. This was announced by the Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
The participation of entrepreneurs from Jharkhand will serve as platform to promote local products in national and international markets. The State Government has decided to appoint a coordinator on district, block and village level to communicate with the Sakhi Mandals and Yuva Mandals and promote their products.

Small and Cottage Development Board has been set up to take care of lac and silk production as the state has ample of opportunities in the segment.
Also, Jharkhand Silk Textile and Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd. (JHARCRAFT) was set up by the Government in the year 2006 to develop and support sericulture farmers, weavers and artisans living in remote areas of Jharkhand. The organization is entrusted with the role of implementation of the Government funded schemes to promote Tasar Silk, Handloom and Handicraft of the state.
