Okhla Garment & Textile Cluster (OGTC), a body of Delhi-NCR based exporters held its 10th International Conference on Apparel & Home Textiles based on the theme “Commitment to Excellence”. The conference witnessed lot many intellectual speakers from across the world. The first session was headed by Deepak Mohindra, Editor-In-Chief of Apparel Online and StitchWorld Magazine; followed by R Dhamotharan of ITC, enlightening the audience on ways of “Managing Supply Chain for Domestic Market Growth” and explaining how international and national brands are focusing on maximum number of styles in a year. Prasad Narayan Rege further highlighted the various aspects of training processes to the garment manufacturers such as Planning, Execution and Sustaining. Each of the speeches was followed by consecutive question/answer sessions, clearing all kinds of doubts that the attendees put forward.
Anant Sadana of United Apparel described the various opportunities for Indian exporters in changing global scenario. Based on his experience in China, Venkatesh Nagan, Asmara International talked on the challenges, opportunities and growth strategies for the Indian apparel industry. In an another sassion, it was Nitesh Burman’s journey from 10 pieces to 30 pieces per day in MRS Fashions WLL Bahrain, complimented by the impactful presentation on the virtual solutions and smart cut planning for reducing the number of samples and fabric consumption by Gil Almog of Optitex.
