The Make in India Week will have a dedicated seminar on textile industry, based on the theme From Farm to Fashion, aimed at addressing Maharashtra’s agrarian crisis and helping the state’s cotton growers overcome their hurdles.
In this regard, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that only 25 per cent of the cotton grown in the state is utilised for value addition, and the textile park which will soon be created would help cotton growers in Vidarbha, Marathwada and parts of North Maharashtra.
According to Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Centre is taking steps to link the manufacturing sector with farm produce, and the biggest reason for the agrarian crisis is also the lack of storage facilities in the state. So this event will attract more investors.
