Denimsandjeans.com, an annual event with focus on innovation, sustainability and quality, has been tapping the potential of Bangladeshi market and showcasing the immense opportunities that Bangladesh’s textile industry holds to the world.
The 5th edition of this event will take place in Dhaka from March 2 to 3. The event will include Bangladesh Fashion Students’ Contest–2016 — a sub-event to bring forth the Bangladeshi fashion tchnology students’ talent.
Enthusiastic about last year’s success, the theme of this year’s show is Denim In Fashion. As the theme is different, the industry expects many more surprises and creative designs from the Bangladeshi fashion students. In the upcoming edition, not only will students take part in a fashion contest, but the selected garments would also be showcased by the models at the Fashion Show — FASHIONIM.

In its last edition, the theme for which was Denim for Playground Dhaka, apart from the traditional customs of exhibitions, the students of Bangladesh Fashion Universities were for the first time involved in a contest related to denim products for an international audience.
The students of three universities — BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) — participated in the contest to showcase some of their innovative designs in denim. This competition was organized and guided by Dhaka-based Anna Troupe, a sustainable design lecturer and social entrepreneur.
