Lenzing FR®, the fibre of protection in all layers based on cellulose, is on show at Interschutz (8-13 June, Hannover), the largest international venue for experts in fire protection and the emergency services, as a complete solution provider for applications in firefighter protective clothing. In a press release, Lenzing informed that the protective fibre, created on a cellulose base, protects firefighters from heat stress as a result of heat accumulation, one of the most frequent reasons for failures in emergency service deployment. With the conception of different layers of fabric, Lenzing FR® can offer a tailor-made concept based on the respective application.
Lenzing FR® can develop its advantages to perfection in fibre blends with synthetics in particular. The fibre guarantees the very best moisture absorption and breathing properties through all of the layers in which it is used like gear for the head and hands, which perspire profusely, requires better sweat transportation which is guaranteed with Lenzing FR®.
Available in a variety of colours, Lenzing FR® is for different emergency forces and is thus used extensively in international protective clothing. The fibre is appreciated in countries with a very hot climate. Optimum moisture regulation is a matter of survival there. Made of wood, Lenzing FR® provides good moisture management which reduces the risk of deadly heat stroke.
