
Innovations in technical textiles, textile machinery, equipment, technology and non-wovens were the major highlights at the 15th edition of Techtextil North America as well as at the 4th Texprocess Americas.
Both the textile events were held at Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta from 22 to 24 May 2018.
There were 567 participants from 32 nations in the events. The combined attendance was 8,292, which is a 4 per cent increase from that in 2016.
At both the events, the exhibitors mostly showcased the latest in cooling fabrics, 3D body scanning, recycling of fibres as well as smart machines connected via cloud.
A lot of visitors expressed happiness over the concept of ‘Made in America’ and said it is good to see the number of jeans factories increasing in LA.
Dennis Smith, who is the President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, said that there is a lot of talent and innovative skills in the USA and both these events were an opportunity to bring the industry experts to see the latest in technology and trends.
There were also paid and complimentary symposium sessions that not only spoke about the latest technology but also about the collaborations within the industry. Besides, there were discussions on topics like smart textiles and wearables as well.
“It is always good to be here as we build connections with so many people and companies within the industry,” averred Rene Gotolle, Training Manager at ZSK Technical Embroidery Systems (Germany).
