Emana , a polyamide yarn made with bioactive minerals, an innovation from a Solvay Group company – Rhodia is one of the winners of the ICIS Innovation Awards 2014, in the ‘Best Product Innovation’ segment. Emana is a yarn that absorbs heat from the human body and returns it in the form of infrared radiation. These rays interact with the body and stimulate the microcirculation of blood, benefiting the skin. Solvay said that the Emana technology is proving increasingly versatile in every segment of the textile industry. The latest revolution is the introduction of the technology to jeanswear. In the sportswear segment, Emana helps athletes reduce muscle fatigue and recover faster. The benefits have been demonstrated in scientific tests in more than four years of extensive clinical trials.
