
The newly elected office bearers and directors of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) for the Chittagong region officially assumed their roles on Tuesday during a ceremony held at the Mahbub Ali Hall of the BGMEA Chittagong Regional Office.
The event featured a two-part session. The first was presided over by BGMEA Standing Committee Member Md M Mohiuddin Chowdhury, while the second was led by the newly elected First Vice-President of BGMEA, Selim Rahman, Managing Director of KDS Garments Industries Ltd.
Prominent former BGMEA leaders, including past First Vice-Presidents Alhaj Khalilur Rahman, Mohammad Abdus Salam, SM Abu Tayyab, Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, and Nasir Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, as well as former vice presidents AM Chowdhury Selim and Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, attended the event. They congratulated the new board and shared valuable insights aimed at guiding the future of the region’s garment industry.
Addressing the gathering, newly elected BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan, Managing Director of Rising Fashions Ltd, along with First Vice-President Selim Rahman, outlined their vision and expressed their commitment to working collectively for the progress of Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector.
A large number of BGMEA members and key industry leaders from the region also participated in the programme.
Earlier, on June 16, the central board of BGMEA, led by President Mahmud Hasan Khan, formally assumed office at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara, Dhaka, for the 2025-2027 term.
