The 2016 edition of Bangladesh Denim Expo held in Dhaka, Bangladesh drew nearly 5,000 professionals and buyers from over 46 countries, including US, UK, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Egypt, Belgium, China and UAEs. The show highlighted 55 exhibitors from 15 countries, presenting the latest news and trends from the denim industry.
The main theme for the show’s fifth edition revolved around ‘Natural Denim’, focusing on promoting a more responsible denim culture within the Bangladeshi marketplace, as the country is a strategic player in the industry and one of the world’s leading producers of denim.

Mostafiz Uddin, Founder and CEO, Bangladesh Denim Expo averred, “The best way to foster the denim industry’s business is to analyse and understand future trends. One of these is surely the adoption of a more ecological approach to manufacturing, implementing sustainable solutions that could be beneficial to the entire industry.”
The two-day event featured several seminars and panel discussions in which the topics debated upon focused on the industry’s objectives for the next few years. The issues include – Importance of Promoting Bilateral Negotiations With Leading Markets such as Europe, Canada and US For Bangladesh; The Need To Progress In Terms of Industrial Safety; and The Need to Manufacture Products That Are Sustainable, Both At A Social and Environmental Level.
