
Vietnam’s category of strength in exports – jackets and blazers witnessed a mixed demand in US and EU… While the category’s export increases to European countries, it keeps decreasing to the US. In the first half of this year, exports of jackets and blazers to the US were recorded at (-) 3.58 per cent year-on-year low to US $ 430.96 million.
Even in the first nine months of the year, the decline continued as the (jackets and blazers) exports from the country registered a year-on-year drop of (-) 6.25 per cent to US $ 1.00 billion. The cumulative imports of jackets and blazers by the US registered a year-on-year decline of (-) 10.24 per cent to US $ 5.22 billion in the first nine months of the year.

On the other hand, Vietnam’s exports to the European Union, however, show the opposite results. In the first half of the current year, the country saw 9.81 per cent year-on-year increase for jackets and blazers to Euro 111.42 million. Likewise, the trend continued for the following month as well.
In the first seven months, the cumulative increase in the exports of jackets and blazers was 7.02 per cent to Euro 130.45 million, year-on-year. However, the overall imports of jackets and blazers by the European Union registered 2.45 per cent increase to Euro 1.61 billion.
