
Khansons Group’s Sonargaon Textiles Limited, which is a public limited company listed with Dhaka & Chittagong Stock Exchange in 1995, and manufactures cotton yarn of different types, suitable for knitting and weaving has made a turnaround after its revenue in the first nine months of FY ’22 jumped by 251 per cent to Taka 35.92 crore — Sonargaon Textiles Limited returned to profit in the first nine months of FY ’22 — from Taka 10.24 crore in the same period of FY ’21, overcoming the crisis owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
Media reports maintained this, adding owing to COVID-19 pandemic, Sonargaon Textiles’ operation was halted for 11 months till 30 May 2021— when the firm was non-operational, its share price was declining — after it closed down in April 2020 as its skilled and essential staff members moved elsewhere, and it took the company about a year to bring back the workers to gradually restart the mill.Following resumption of operations, its sales started increasing gradually.
“We hope it will be better in the coming days,” meanwhile maintained the company Secretary of Sonargaon Textiles Limited Asadullah Mahmud speaking to the media even as he claimed the company’s business has been improving gradually as the pandemic situation has become normal now.
