
Textile mill owners in Bangladesh, who cater to the local market, are expecting good business during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, since this the first time in the last couple of years, people are probably set to celebrate the holy festival without much restrictions, which is also considered the biggest shopping season in the country.
Media reports claimed this adding improvement in the COVID-19 situation in recent times has restored the confidence of businesses even as retailers, wholesalers, spinners, weavers and dealers across Bangladesh could not do much business in last two years on account of lockdowns and restrictions related to coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) Monsoor Ahmed said usually, textile millers sell fabrics worth Taka 25,000 crore in the run-up to the Eid-ul-Fitr festival alone.
