
Even as Bangladesh is all set to join the league of developing nations, which would come with its own set of challenges in terms of exports, one of the biggest trading partners of Bangladesh, the European Union (EU), has assured the country of continued trade benefits even after the LDC graduation.
As per reports, this was assured by the newly-appointed EU Ambassador to Dhaka Charles Whiteley, who called on the Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Tapan Kanti Ghosh, recently, even as the said meeting, reportedly, revolved around bilateral interests of trade development and comprehensive cooperation, including expansion of trade and commerce between the EU and Bangladesh.
Present at the meeting were also Additional Secretaries of the Commerce Ministry Md. Hafizur Rahman (Export), Nur Mohammad Mahbubul Haque (FTA), EU Officials, amongst others.
